Islamophobia – Exploring the Causes and Cures
Muslim Engagement and Development (MEND) is organizing an engagement event for women of Waltham Forest. We hope that Muslim women – who are at a higher risk of Islamophobic attacks than men – will come together to discuss their own experiences with Islamophobia and join MEND in developing strategies to overcome this. Hate crimes directed at Muslims nearly doubled in Glasgow between 2015-2016. Figures released by the Scottish Government 's Advisory Group on Hate Crime, Prejudice and Community Cohesion, show Islamophobic offences increased by 89%.
