With elections coming up on 6th May, it’s vital that we’re aware of the policies and priorities of the candidates so we can make an informed decision at the polls.

The PCC:
- Appoints and holds the Chief Constable to account for policing, ensuring an efficient and effective police force
- Sets the local precept (council tax charge for policing)
- Publishes a Police and Crime Plan
- Publishes an Annual Report Commission services and award grants
- Consults and engages with communities and victims of crime
- Brings together Community Safety Partnerships to deliver community safety
- Ensures the enhanced delivery of criminal justice
