ISLAMOPHOBIA WATCH

đŸ‡³đŸ‡¿ Remembering Christchurch: 51 Souls, The Loss, The Lessons & The Legacy

On March 15, 2019, a gunman attacked two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday prayers, killing 51 people. This devastating attack was designed to spread fear globally.

Horrifyingly, the perpetrator live streamed part of the shooting.

The perpetrator was found to be motivated by white nationalist ideology, meaning these acts of violence share a common thread with many similar attacks in recent years.

The world is witnessing a rise in Islamophobia, Hate Crimes and Violence, which makes it incumbent upon humanity to do something to prevent it from ever getting to that stage.

To honour the 51 souls, we will be discussing the lessons we gained, and the legacy left behind.

We are joined by:

Mohammed Thompson: Chair of Voice of Islam (New Zealand)

Farid Ahmed: Homeopathic Health Consultant (New Zealand – Survivor)

Professor Brian Cathcart: Professor of Journalism at Kingston University London (UK)
