On Friday 1st July, MEND was invited by Huddersfield New College to deliver training on Islamophobia to their staff.
MEND’s Yorkshire and Humber Regional Manager delivered the causes and cures of Islamophobia workshop. The workshop aimed to educate staff at the college on what Islamophobia is, how to identify it, its manifestation within the UK, the main causes for its rise over the years and how it could be tackled.
The attendees were shocked to hear some of the alarming stats and and horrific stories of Islamophobic crimes. The leadership at Huddersfield New College thanked MEND for delivering the informative and eye-opening workshop and expressed their intent to further work with MEND to raise awareness of and tackle Islamophobia.
