Politics Masterclass in Newport

MEND in Newport in collaboration with Young Muslim and Community Organisations (YMCO), organised a politics masterclass on the 28th of April 2018. The masterclass covered the British political and electoral system, the history of political parties and the differences between elected representatives, key legislations that impact Muslims and finally lobbying and strategic participation. By the end of the masterclass, the participants better appreciated that they are equal citizens of Britain and they should have equal access to British politics. They also realised their ability to lobby for issues that matters to them and appreciated the importance of exercising their civic duty of voting, as every vote matters.
