Assalamu Alaykum,
Ramadan 2018 proved to be an eventful month for the Central London Working Group. This was particularly so with the different events which the Working Group did in collaboration with Ramadan Tent Project’s Open Iftar initiative.
Its first event, during this month, was Aman Ali’s presentation on the role of activism to the attendees of the Open Iftar, that night. Next, when Open Iftar came to Birmingham, the Working Group worked alongside the Birmingham Working Group and during this particular Open Iftar event, different speakers delivered different presentations including the MP Naz Shah.
Later in the month, back in London, on a separate night, the Working Group managed to organise an IRU stall at the RTP, which involved a lot of interaction from attendees.
Finally, as the month closed towards an end, the final event which took place, was the flagship Causes and Cures presentation which was delivered to RTP volunteers. With a strong number of volunteers helping out each night, these volunteers attended the short presentation which explored the work and achievements of MEND. This was followed up with questions and answers, with a presentation as a whole proving both interesting and insightful for the volunteers.
