Vermilion- MEND Manchester Business Iftar

MEND Manchester hosted an Iftar dinner with leading business contacts, and their families, from across the Greater Manchester region (and one all the way from Birmingham!). It was an opportunity for our founder, Sufyan Ismail, to bring people up to speed about the current work of MEND and to give it a local twist. He spoke about the importance of the organization and why now, more than ever, we need to advocate for the rights of British Muslims.

Iftar quickly came and it was a blessing for all to open their fast together as a community. The community vibe continued as everyone enjoyed a feast of food together and discussions about the work of MEND carried on throughout the night with many pledging to become involved.

The event was skillfully hosted by the Manchester Working Group Chair, Jawad Amin. Attendees were eager to learn more about the organization and see how they too could be part of the movement. We picked up many volunteers on the night and hope to help them develop into active members of MEND through our WG Personal Development Plan.

The event was a success thanks to the hard work of the Manchester WG and their dedication to the MEND mission.
