TUC and SUTR Regional Conference, Birmingham

Mend Researcher Dr Antonio Perra presented a paper to a session of the Midlands TUC and Stand up to Racsim regional conference in Birmingham.  The session was titled Prevent, Trojan Horse and the fight against Islamophobia.  The other speaker during the session was Professor John Holmwood, author and lecturer at the University of Nottingham.

There was discussion about the relationship between prevent, trojan horse and neo-colonialism.  Speakers and attendees were of the opinion that Trojan Horse had lead to more securitisation in Schools and public services, negatively impacting Muslim communities.
