MEND’s Leicester Vice Chair spoke at a stand up to racism event at the Secular Hall. This event was attended by members of all faiths and nun.
A large number of people were present at the event for example Union Members, Local Counselors and Council offices. All generations came together to celebrate Leicester’s diversity and to guarantee that a movement was built to ensure that Leicester continued as a diverse city.
At the evening OTHER GUEST SPEAKERS included:
- ROGER MCKENZIE – Assistant General Secretary, UNISON
- SABBY DHALU – Joint Secretary, Stand Up to Racism
The MEND exhibition on Islamophobia & British Muslims was present on the day. Many people complemented the exhibition on its relevance and quality.
This was a great collaboration between MEND and stand-up to racism, Hopefully one of many to come.
