On Sunday the 10th of September MEND North held a workshop on the Nurturing Muslim Identities guides. Parents from all over Preston attended the event, to empower themselves to ensure their children are able to express their Muslim identity.
The workshop discussed different approaches and methodologies that can be utilised to request the school for Halal meals, prayer spaces and accommodate religious dress like the Hijab.
Parents found this very useful, and mentioned that some of the schools only provide vegetarian meals as a Halal option and they would use the guide to request Halal meals at the school.
The session ended with a Q&A.
