MEND support fundraising initiative to raise £15,000 for PPE for doctors

MEND volunteers in Cardiff supported Dar Ul-Isra Mosque initiative, led by Dr Shahid Akhtar to fundraise £15,000 to support GPs with equipment in response to COVID19. This initiative supplied PPE to every GP practice in Cardiff with equipment. This included reusable respirators, disposable gowns, hair caps, gloves and visors.

Furthermore, 50 respirators were provided to the Intensive Treatment Units (ITU) at the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport and the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. District nursing teams, the palliative care team, GP surgeries in the Vale and the community care team were all also provided with PPE.
