MEND Report Yorkshire with Dr Jo Britton

At the end of September the MEND Sheffield Working Group welcomed Dr Jo Britton, Senior Lecturer in Applied Sociology at the University of Sheffield, to their regional webinar series MEND Report Yorkshire.

This webinar, which was organised and hosted by our Sheffield volunteer, Amina, aimed to unpack the impact of COVID-19 on Muslims and the Muslim community. Dr Britton aimed to provide some reflection and analysis on the impact of the COVID crisis on British Muslims and she provided some issues, themes and patterns that emerged from her analysis.

One of the topics that Dr Britton highlighted was the role that Muslims played during the pandemic, she described the Muslim community as ‘making a valuable, multi-dimensional contribution to the collective response, both at the local and national level’.
