MEND contribution to EYST conference: Race, Poverty & Representation

MEND was invited by Ethnic Minorities & Youth Support Team (EYST) to speak at their conference on the 20th of March. MEND regional manger Sahar Al-Faifi, spoke at the event about the triple discrimination against faith, colour and gender and highlighted the institutional Islamophobia to which Muslim women suffer from the most as well as proposed solutions. The solutions included, responsible media reporting, legally protecting Muslim from incitement to hatred as well as mentoring schemes to get minorities into the job market and build programmes to support their progressions.
