Our Cardiff working group hosted a webinar on the 27th Oct on the topic of Islamophobia in Schools. Joining us on the webinar were Rahema Zaman, parent of 3 and vice chair of our Mend cardiff working group, Husa Osman caseworker at theiru.org.uk and Abu Bakr Madden al Shabazz a Historian, Comparative Sociologist, Psychologist, Educator and Psychotherapist.
The webinar touched upon numerous topics ranging from the challenges faced by Muslim children in school, the struggles parents face to ensure cases of Islamophobic bullying are taken seriously, and the need for our curriculums to be more inclusive and showcase the positive contributions Muslims have made to the UK.
