Islamophobia is on the rise, mosques are being vandalised, sisters are spat on and Katie Hopkins continues to tweet against Muslims and Islam. To tackle that, MEND Bristol organised a community event; Islamophobia: A Living Reality on 5th of May 2018. At the event, MEND regional manger Sahar Al-Faifi answered the questions whether Islamophobia exists or not. If so, what are the causes of Islamophobia and what are the tools to tackle it. The event took place at Easton Community Centre, Kilburn st, Bristol BS5 6AW and we are planning to organise more future events to empower Muslims to engage with mainstream politics and media in Bristol.
