On Wed 6th April, MEND Yorkshire was invited by Huddersfield Community First to hold a stall at their annual community iftar event.
The purpose of the stall was to raise awareness of Islamophobia and the work of MEND within the wider community in Huddersfield. There were numerous interesting conversations with attendees on better protection of minority communities and ending discrimination. Over 200 people attended the event and many were impressed with the work MEND is doing to challenge stereotypes and support victims of Islamophobia.
It was a brilliant community event which ended with a delicious 3-course Iftar meal. MEND would like to thank Huddersfield Community First for the invitation and we look forward to attending again next year.
