International Women’s Day – UNISON

As part of the international women’s day, UNISON in collaboration with Velindre University NHS trust, organised a conference titled balance for better on the 8^th of March to which MEND regional manager Sahar Al-Faifi spoke at. The event looked at women’s history, struggles and successes in order to get a better understanding of gender and how gender impacts all aspects of life, from choices, attitudes and behaviours to challenging the barriers, history has put in place. The speakers included; Norena Shopland – Historian and Author of “Forbidden Lives: LGBT stories from Wales, Abi Carter -Remembering Srebrenica, Kendall Bromley – Unison Young Members. Cllr and An Ting – Chinese Art Now.
