#IAM2020 Islamophobia Causes and Cures in Urdu

On the 17th of November and the 24th November 2020, as part of Islamophobia Awareness Month MEND volunteers came together to deliver the Causes and Cures Presentation for the first time in the Urdu language.
The event was a great success with many attendees ( many of whom have Urdu as their first language) taking part. The webinar gave participants the opportunity to address issues which were of concern to them, living as part of the British Community in the UK. It resonated with those who had faced Islamophobic hate crime but didn’t realise this was a crime punishable in the UK.
The presentation educated participants about their vulnerabilities and how they would have to come forward in taking their concerns if they had been victims of hate crime- in order to help overcome the status quo.
We look forward to delivering this presentation in more often in Urdu speaking communities.
