Redbridge working group hosted a Women’s Open Forum on Islamophobia at Albert Road Mosque. The event drew in a crowd of frustrated locals ready to have their complaints heard. Local MP Wes Streeting and Superintendent Mark Long were all ears, encouraging everyone in attendance to participate in the discussion in order to facilitate a solution for the local Muslim community. It was a delight to see Muslim women having their concerns being listened to by those who represent them in parliament and serve to protect them on the streets. This event also served as a networking event for the women as they got to know other women from their local community, strengthening communal ties.
