Our exhibitions were hosted at Leeds University, Leeds Beckett University and Leeds College (Park Lane Campus) during Islamophobia Awareness Month. The standout performance was delivered by Leeds Beckett students who hosted the exhibition for three days, and managed to raise to £285 for our Leeds Working Group. Not only this, but they engaged lots of students and academics throughout the process, and will now form a part of assessment for a degree programme the students are undertaking.
We were absolutely delighted with the enthusiasm and commitment of some of the students from Leeds Beckett, who are now seeing Islamophobia as a threat to peace. If we are thinking about our next generation taking action for social justice, then we are very hopeful to see students carrying the baton of solidarity and unity.
Leeds City College also managed to host our exhibition at the Park Lane campus, and raised much needed awareness among students and education practitioners. The Students Union handled the publicity and interactions for three days, and finished with a causes and cures presentation to a number of students.
Absolutely over the moon with the success of our exhibition at both universities and at Leeds City College!
