ECHOES OF IMAAN: Quwwatul Islam, Preston- Causes + Cures and Shaykh Sulaiman Moola

On Friday 21st June, MEND presented their Causes + Cures of Islamophobia material to a large congregation at Quwwatul Islam in Preston. Shaykh Sulaiman Moola then followed to reiterate the message and work that MEND are doing to address Islamophobia in the UK.

The C&C resonated with the audience and they were able to see how national narratives have lead to the local incidents that they are familiar with. The importance of protecting Muslim rights in the UK was emphasised and the powerful presentation led to many pledging to volunteer for MEND and donating to the cause.

Sh. Moola also spoke on the topic of Islamophobia, using narrations to support the imperative nature of the work that MEND do. He spoke about individual responsibility in addressing Islamophobia in this country which led on nicely from MEND’s comments on how being media and politically literate can support this.
