In the heart of England and at the epicentre of Muslim Britain Mend held an event in Birmingham, titled Challenging Islamophobia in Schools.
The half day presentation was attended by School teachers and parents from as far afield as Manchester and Leeds.
The head of Mend’s schools team Shahab Adris presented Mend’s Schools materials. He then presented a lesson that he had prepared from the materials. Attendees proceeded to develop their own lesson plans in groups, utilising Mend’s materials. These newly prepared lesson plans were then presented to the event by the attendee groups.
Delegates at the event went away with USB’s containing lesson plans and material to produce more plans. The feedback for this event was very positive and will be coming to a city near you soon.
