Causes and Cures of Islamophobia at Al Hashim Academy

On Sunday 26th June, MEND Yorkshire was invited by Al Hashim Academy in Batley to deliver a presentation to their congregation in order to raise awareness of Islamophobia.
MEND Yorkshire and Humber Community Organiser delivered the causes and cures of Islamophobia presentation. The presentation aimed to educate the congregation on Islamophobia, its manifestation within the UK and what they can do to tackle it within their community.
During the presentation, the attendees were shocked to hear stories of some of the horrific Islamophobic attacks on British Muslims in recent years, one of them being the story of Zaynab Hussein who was ran over twice by her attacker in 2017.
Al Hashim Academy and its congregation thanked MEND for delivering a very informative and eye-opening presentation.
