Bullied For My Beliefs Purley Mosque

Bullied For My Beliefs Purley Mosque

Categories: Past Event Articles

Monday August 13 2018

Purley Mosque is a very familiar setting for MEND as our Croydon Working Group hosts their monthly meetings at the Mosque. Imam Suleiman Gani kindly invited MEND to deliver a presentation titled ‘Bullied For My Beliefs’ to the children attending Purley Madrassah. The presentation covered key points on how to identify Islamophobia, where is manifests, what is the mindset of Islamophobic bullies and how to report bullying effectively. Furthermore, the presentation skilfully demonstrates the contribution Muslims have made historically and presently to Britain and the world at large. This evidently built confidence in the children listening attentively to the presentation as smiles widened across their faces after learning how connected they really are to this society.

Presentations such as these are vital for our children in order for them to grow up with a confidence in being a Muslim and British without any contradiction. If you would like to invite MEND to speak at your Muslim school or Madrassah please get in touch with us at [email protected].
