In Bradford, a number of organisations have come together to work in collaboration to aid the Bradford community during these difficult times. This partnership includes Bradford City Council, the Council for Mosques, The Faith Centre, and a number of other organisations.
The Bradford Foundation Trust in particular has made it their objective to support vulnerable refugee and asylum seeker families in Bradford. Aside from having set up a food parcel delivery service, they have also set up a telephone support service to aid asylum seekers and refugees on any issues.
Since April 1st the Foundation Trust has collaboratively provided over 230 food parcels to asylum seeker and refugee families, 670 hot meals to these families and homeless shelters, and not to mention 1200 water bottles for Bradford NHS Hospitals.
Shadim Hussain of the Bradford Foundation Trust also has scheduled weekly Zoom calls, every Thursday, with sector professionals, this includes mental health and bereavement support. The Trust is looking to establish other innovative methods to support the community and cover a number of issues for vulnerable families.
