In a praiseworthy effort to promote inclusivity and combat discrimination, Huddersfield University’s Islamic Society (ISOC) recently organized a transformative workshop in collaboration with MEND (Muslim Engagement and Development).

This event provided a crucial platform for fostering unity and building connections among diverse communities. Conducted at the welcoming premises of Huddersfield University ISOC, the workshop aimed to empower attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to intervene and support individuals facing Islamophobic incidents. A knowledgeable speaker from MEND shed light on the various forms of Islamophobia and its profound impact on both individuals and communities. Through interactive sessions, participants acquired practical strategies to become active bystanders, emphasizing the pivotal role of unity and solidarity in countering prejudice.

Huddersfield University ISOC’s dedication to community empowerment shone through as they graciously hosted this insightful workshop. Attendees departed with an increased awareness of Islamophobia and a renewed sense of responsibility to contribute to a safer, more inclusive society.
