The North West Evening Mail reports on the upcoming court appearance of a woman charged with a racially aggravated public order offence for allegedly hurling racist abuse at takeaway worker Ali Ozmus.

Esha Louise Doherty, 25, is accused of abusing Mr Ozmus at the Hot Potato takeaway shop in Barrow on 20 August 2016.

Doherty has been charged with using racially or religiously aggravated words or behaviour towards Mr Ozmus.

An earlier report in the local paper referred to a police investigation into an incident occurring on Friday 12 August when a member of staff at the Hot Potato takeaway shop was “racially abused by someone inside the shop” at “some point” in the evening.

Doherty is due to appear at Furness Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
