Woman in court for spraying landlord’s car with offensive graffiti following eviction

A woman has appeared in court after spraying racially aggravated abuse across her landlord’s car after being evicted from her privately rented property.

Dalina Pop, 34, sprayed words including ‘racist’ and ‘Arab’ across her landlord Ovace Miller’s BMW after she was told to leave the property she shared with him on 5 August 2015.

Mr Miller had left his car parked in the street outside, and returned in the morning to find it had been vandalised. Various words and phrases including ‘racist’, ‘Arab’ and ‘no means no’ had been sprayed across the white BMW 6 Series vehicle.

It was claimed in court that Mr Miller has had to pay £17,000 to get the car resprayed as a result of the damage.

Pop, who now lives in Hampstead, appeared at Southwark Crown Court last Friday to deny a charge of racially aggravated criminal damage. She was bailed with the case set to be heard later in the year.
