ACTION ALERT: CALL UPON YOUR MP TO SIGN UP TO KING’S SPEECH AMENDMENT DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR GAZA!
Thursday July 18 2024
Multiple MPs are supporting an amendment to the King’s Speech demanding that the British government take action to prevent the further loss of life in the war-torn Gaza Strip. This includes “suspending arms exports to Israel” and “support[ing] an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.” It also says that MPs should “work to uphold international law in Israel and Palestine” while expressing horror at the overwhelming number of civilians killed in the conflict. It also says that the government must recognise “the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Israel’s assault is plausibly in breach of the Genocide Convention.” To see the full amendment, click here and scroll down to amendment c.

“Dear [enter MP’s name]
I am writing to you to call upon you to do the morally right thing by signing up to the proposed amendment c to the King’s Speech, which calls for the British government to take immediate action to stem the mass murder unfolding in the Gaza Strip, which would include, among other things, expressing horror at the sheer number of civilians deaths, recognise the ruling of the International Court of Justice that Israel’s military assault on the defenceless civilians population of Gaza is plausibly in breach of the Genocide Convention and calling for an arms embargo on Israel, a move that is supported by 56% of the polled British population.
To sign up to this amendment would be a courageous step on your part, and would signal to your constituents that you are on the side of international law, justice and morality at a time when popular anger toward the mainstream parties over their stance on Gaza is at an all time high.
Yours sincerely
