The Hull Daily Mail reports on the arrest of a 15 year old boy in connection with racist abuse directed at shopkeepers, including at the Aladdin takeaway, in The Quadrant, Hull.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear before Hull Youth Court on 28 June for a racially motivated public order offence.

PC Andy White said the area had seen a spate of anti-social behaviour. He told the local paper, “A number of kids have been going in and giving abuse to the staff and making racial remarks to workers.

“We want to identify the kids involved. They should not be coming out with this sort of language.”

Officers are looking to identify other youths involved in the anti-social behaviour and have appealed to parents to “keep an eye on their children and know where they are”.

PC White said: “We will catch those involved and when we do they will be dealt with accordingly.

“This type of behaviour is just not acceptable.”
