Suspected arson attack on mosque in Braintree, Essex

The Braintree and Witham Times reports on a suspected arson attack on the Al Falah Islamic Centre in Silks Way, Braintree on Sunday 8 January.

The local paper reports police officers and a fire crew attended the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning when the mosque’s doors were  kicked and rubbish bags set alight and dumped on the roof of the centre.

Two men are alleged to have committed the offences which took place around 2.30am.

Essex police confirmed the incident is being investigated as a hate crime.
