The Daily Record reports on another racist assault on an Asian schoolboy after footage from an incident in Edinburgh was uploaded on Twitter with the words “Smash a P*ki.”
The paper reports the incident involving a “feral gang” of 13 year olds took place on 13 September in the East Craigs area in the Scottish capital.
In video footage of the incident, the victim can be seen cowering on the floor as boys repeatedly punch and kick him.
The victim, who pleads to be left alone, tries to escape but is punched and hurled to the floor while the beating continues.
The incident was captured on a smartphone and appeared on the Twitter account of an individual who later removed it. The words “Smash a P*ki” appeared with the video on a social media post.
Police Scotland confirmed two boys, both aged 13, had been charged in connection with the incident stating further inquiries were ongoing.
A spokesperson for the police said: “A 13-year-old boy attended Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.
“Two boys, both 13, were charged in connection with this. Inquiries are ongoing in relation to a social media post connected to this incident.
“Officers remain committed to thoroughly investigating any and all reports of hate crime.”
The report comes a day after a Muslim parent posted details of a racist assault on her 13 year old son as he played football with friends in Chorlton, Greater Manchester.
