MEND will be hosting a powerful line up of successful women speakers at our fringe event at the Labour Party conference today. The event, titled, Labour and Muslim Women Empowerment, will highlight the acute challenges Muslim women face in the spotlight of public opinion and in the workplace, alongside showcasing the positive contributions Muslim women have made to British society. Speaking at the event are:
Diane Abbott – Shadow Home Secretary
Rushanara Ali – MP for Bethnal Green and Bow
Naz Shah – MP for Bradford West
Kate Green – MP for Stretford and Urmston
Dr Saleyha Ahsan – emergency doctor, broadcaster and former British Army Captain
The fringe event is taking place at the Chartwell Suite at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Brighton. The event will run from 10:30am – 12:30pm on Tuesday 26th September.
