Pig’s head left on a spike outside Portsmouth Islamic school

A pig’s head was wedged on a fence spike outside an Islamic school, the Madani Academy, The Portsmouth News reports. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman confirmed local police had received a report of the incident saying an investigation was underway into “…a suspicious incident which occurred at the rear car park of the Madani Academy… some time between 3.30pm on Sunday, December 1 and 11am on Tuesday, December 3.” |
Mike Hancock, MP for Portsmouth South and patron of the Madani Academy, said “I was horrified by what happened and it’s an absolute disgrace.”
He added, “Members of the community came to me and said they were horrified by it.
“I wanted to put their minds at rest that this was an isolated incident.”
In August, the English Defence League held a protest against the opening of Madani Academy with support from the South East Alliance, March for England, English Volunteer Force and the Croydon Casuals.
