Mosque walls in Toul, France daubed with Nazi symbols

Mosque walls in Toul, France daubed with Nazi symbols

Categories: Latest News

Friday August 21 2009

Le Figaro carried a story earlier this week about the defiling of a mosque in Toul, France, where racist and Nazi graffiti was sprayed and pig offal smeared onto its walls.

The paper reports that the desecration is the work of far right skinheads who also sprayed the walls of a kebab shop in the nearby village with similar racist slogans.

The French Council for the Muslim faith denounced the incident for its ‘racist and xenophobic aggression against a place of prayer, peace and contemplation’.

With protests planned by the far right English Defence League against Harrow mosque in the coming weeks, and the firebombing of mosques in Luton, Bishop’s Stortford and Greenwich, this latest incident in France should be a cause of growing concern about the targetting of Muslim places of worship and Muslim property by far right extremists across Europe.
