MEND Statement: Chaplain Gareth Bryant

MEND is deeply concerned with revelations regarding statements previously made by Mr Gareth Bryant. We have, therefore, taken the decision to cancel the event A Critique of  Anti-Blackness Via Muslim Religio-Scholarship that was scheduled to feature Mr Bryant on Thursday 29^th October 2020. We believe that some of the language used by Mr Bryant is indefensible and totally at odds with our ethos and values. We have contacted Mr Bryant to seek his views. MEND would like to wholeheartedly apologise for any offence caused and reiterate our commitment to standing firmly against anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and all other forms of racism and prejudice.
