MEND Statement (25.11.20)

Categories: MEND

Wednesday November 25 2020

We have become aware of two historical tweets authored by our CEO, Dr Shazad Amin.

In recognising the hurt caused by the tweets, which may be construed as anti-Semitic, Dr Shazad Amin has deleted the tweets and issued the following statement: “I wholeheartedly apologise for any offence that may have been caused by these tweets. My intention was solely to highlight the lack of attention given to the human rights abuses committed by the Israeli government against the Palestinian people. My entire career has been spent in the service to others and I remain dedicated to the tackling of hatred and prejudice in our society.”

MEND and Dr Amin stand firm in their commitment to confront anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, and all other forms of racism and prejudice.
