BBC News and local news site, MK News, report on the sentencing of a man for arson after he started a fire at a mosque in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, in March this year.
Richard Bevington, 30, “admitted arson with intent to danger life and a racially and religiously-aggravated public order offence following the fire in March 8 2014”, according to the local paper.
The mosque in Bletchley was the target of protests by the far right BNP in 2011, when it was granted planning permission. It was also targeted in a hate crime the same year when a pig’s head was thrown onto its premises.
Bevington was jailed for four years at Aylesbury Crown Court.
