The Mirror reports on the charges brought against a man who daubed the word ‘Islam’ on the RAF Bomber Command War Memorial and the Animals in War Memorial last May, days after the murder of Drummer Lee Rigby.

Andrew Patterson, 31, committed 94 offences over a six week period last year including “slashing car tyres to graffiti and smashing windows, repeatedly targeting homes and, on three occasions, Westbourne Park Baptist Church”.

Patterson pleaded guilty to 15 charges in relation to the various offences. His case has been committed to Southwark Crown Court and he was bailed on condition that he resides at the West London Mental Health Trust in Southall.
