Edinburgh Evening News reports on a fine imposed upon a man who hurled racist abuse outside a Scottish mosque in the wake of Lee Rigby’s murder last May.
Grant Gallagher was heard shouting abuse at Muslims including taunts such as “you terrorists killed him” as he angrily grabbed and rattled the gates of the mosque in Livingston, West Lothian.
Gallagher, 55, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.
The local paper reports that Gallagher initially appeared on a petition charged with an offence for brandishing a knife outside the mosque and challenging people to fight however, the allegation was consequently reduced and the Crown Prosecution Service assented that he was not guilty of such an offence.
Gallagher has been released with a fine of £150.
