Losing My Religion Conference 2019

MEND’s flagship Losing My Religion Conference (LMRC) is coming back and it’s bigger than ever!

At times when the Muslim communities are being portrayed as backwards, LMRC 2019 sets to be an opportunity for our communities to take back the narrative! To take ownership of what it means to be a British Muslim! To decide how society views the Muslim communities!

LMRC 2019, running from the 21^st to the 24^th of June, will be entertaining the most diverse panel yet to achieve these ambitious aims. The panel, including scholars, activists, comedians, media personalities and a BAFTA award-winning artist, will host a number of exciting talks all with the aim of increasing political activism within our communities. The speaker list includes big names, including: Shaykh Yasir Qadhi, Tez Ilyas, Linda Sarsour, as well as many others!

MEND strives to empower and encourage British Muslims within local communities to be more actively involved in British media and politics. Our work involves not just tackling the rising problem of Islamophobia within our society but also highlighting the incalculable contribution of British Muslims to the UK.

This conference will highlight how each one of us can not just effectively challenge Islamophobia but moreover take ownership of the narratives surrounding Muslims in the UK.

After the success of the 2017 events, MEND has expanded the conferences to these four unique cities: Birmingham (21^st June), Manchester (22^nd June), London (23^rd June) and Cardiff (24^th June).

This tour has an expected audience of over 6,000 people, all of whom will be given the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge from our specially selected speakers and carefully crafted conferences.
