The Ihsan mosque in Norwich (pictured) hosted an Open Day last weekend, complete with an exhibition of the history of Norwich’s Muslim communities. |
The open day was attended by many, including the Lord Mayor of Norwich, who said, “I think it is a great idea that groups like this open their doors to the public, it stops it becoming a ‘them and us’ situation.”
At a time when the BNP is fomenting hostility towards Muslims and mosques in the UK, open days are an invaluable way of inviting others in to get to know their Muslim neighbours better.
