Humberside police investigating possible link between mosque racist abuse incident and assault

Categories: Latest News

Thursday June 16 2016

The Hull Daily Mail reports on a police investigation into a possible link between an incident of racial abuse outside a Hull mosque and the alleged assault of four young people on 16 June.

The paper reports that police were alerted to an incident of racial abuse outside a mosque in the Avenues area. Police later received reports on the alleged assault on four people who are suspected of being part of a “wider group” some of whose members were involved in the racist abuse incident.

The local paper reports the four victims, aged between 16 and 19, allege they were assaulted by men, some of them “armed with batons”, who then drove off in a white BMW.

Humberside police are investigating whether the incidents are linked. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log numbers 26 and 29 of June 16. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
