Over 120 MPs to date from all the main political parties have added their voices to the growing criticism of the BBC and its refusal to air the DEC Gaza Appeal. |
You can read the full list of MPs that have supported the Early Day Motion introduced by Richard Burden (pictured), MP for Birmingham Northfield, calling the BBC decision ‘unconvincing and incoherent’, here.
The Early Day Motion reads as follows:
‘That this House is astonished by the refusal of the BBC and Sky to broadcast the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Gaza Crisis Appeal; considers that the explanations given for this decision by BBC spokespersons are both unconvincing and incoherent; and draws attention to the fact that people wishing to obtain information about the Gaza appeal can contact the DEC by visiting www.dec.org.uk.’
Is your MP among those that have signed the motion? If so, why not write and thank her/him? And if not, you could write and ask their reasons for not supporting the motion.
You can find your MP and contact her/him here.
