Over 1200 men and women attended the latest ENGAGE community presentation on Sunday 9th November at the 3D Centre in Bolton.
The presentation was delivered in two parts, the first focusing on conditions in Britain that have created and sustained high levels of Islamophobia. The second part focused on practical solutions to reversing the prevalence of anti Muslim prejudice in the media and the low levels of political engagement by Muslims.
Speakers included Sufyan Ismail (A trustee of ENGAGE), Mawlana Fazlur Rahman, Mawlana Sabir Ali (Jamia Alavia Mosque) and Inayat Bunglawala (Advisor on Research and Policy at ENGAGE) who spoke on ‘The Right To Hope’.
Following the ENGAGE presentation over 100 people came forward to register as core volunteers to help drive the ENGAGE project forward.
ENGAGE would like to record its thanks and appreciation to Mawlana Rashid of Zakariyya Mosque and his team of volunteers who worked hard all day to make the event a great success.
