STV News and The Herald report on the release of CCTV images of a man sought by Police Scotland in connection with a report of an alleged religiously aggravated incident at the Thistles shopping centre in Stirling earlier this year.

The news report states the victim, a 27 year old woman, was shopping with her daughter in Thistles Shopping Centre when the incident occurred at 2.45pm on Monday, April 18. Police are treating the incident as religiously aggravated although the victim’s religious identity has not been disclosed.

Forth Valley Police have today released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. He has been described as “white, between 18 and 20, around 5ft 11in, of slim build and had black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket and black trousers.”

Sergeant Robert Russell of Forth Valley Police said: “While the victim was not physically injured, she was deeply offended and upset by the incident.

“We are keen to trace the male in the CCTV footage and would ask anyone who can assist us to contact police immediately.

“Anyone with further information relevant to this investigation is also being asked to get in touch.”

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
