C4 Dispatches: Inside Britain's Israel Lobby

Channel 4’s Dispatches programme will screen a documentary titled ‘Inside Britain’s Israel Lobby’, investigating ‘one of the most powerful and influential political lobbies in Britain, which is working in support of the interests of the State of Israel.’

The documentary, to be broadcast on Monday 16 November at 8pm, is presented by Peter Oborne (pictured).

Oborne also presented C4’s ‘It Shouldn’t Happen to a Muslim’ in July last year and co-authored, with James Jones, the report ‘Muslims Under Siege’, accompanying the programme,

The documentary is mentioned in an article in the Jewish Chronicle today and includes a comment from a Channel 4 spokesperson rejecting the notion that the documentary on the Israel lobby was commissioned to counter-balance the Dispatches programme, ‘Undercover Mosque’, which featured hardline Muslim preachers in the UK.

The C4 spokesman told the JC that the documentary was ‘an entirely legitimate area of journalistic investigation, not least in the run-up to an election, where a lobby working in support of the interests of a foreign power could wield great influence in shaping future British policy.’
