The East London Mosque is the latest to report an ‘invasion’ by Britain First, the far right group which is contesting seats in the European Parliament elections this week.
The far right party has already been reported to the police for its unsolicited visits to mosques in Bradford and Glasgow last week where worshippers were confronted by BF supporters handing out leaflets about ‘Muslims grooming gangs’ and copies of the Bible.
It seems the visit to the East London mosque was not dissimilar with Britain First members filming the incident before making off in a car according to one eye witness account published in The Times.
Britain First has posted videos of its campaign against ‘Muslim grooming gangs’ on its Facebook page as well as footage from visits to mosques in Bradford and Glasgow.
The party sells merchandise emblazoned with the words “Britain First – Taking our country back”, as noted in The Times article. In an unamusing irony, UKIP, looking to quell claims of it being a racist party, has an advert in the form of an open letter published in the Daily Telegraph stating: ‘All we want is our country back’. A slogan which it appears to share with both Britain First and the BNP.
