Bomb scare at London church after suspect package found with message: ‘only open if you are expert in the Quran’

The Chingford Guardian reports on a bomb scare sparked at the St Peter and St Paul’s Church, in Chingford after a suspect package marked “only open if you are expert in the Quran” was left in the church last night.
Police were called to the north London parish after the package was found at a Zumba class which is held in the church every week.
The package, described as “medium-sized” was left with a message which read: “Please do not read unless you are an expert on the Quran. Very seriously dangerous. Please.”
The Metropolitan police were alerted to the package and attended the scene only to find it was “a bible wrapped inside a white tea towel.”
The Met police said there would be no investigation into the matter because no offence had been committed.
The parish tweeted a message this morning saying “Police called last night to investigate suspect package at church- a harmless hoax. Police- very professional. We pray for the perpetrator.”
