Bedfordshire police appeal witnesses over religious abuse incident in restaurant

Local paper, Bedford Today, reports on a police appeal for witnesses after a victim was subjected to religiously aggravated verbal abuse at an Indian restaurant in Bedford.

The local paper states the incident happened at the Thali & Tandoor Restaurant in Castle Lane, Bedford on Sunday, June 12 between 7pm and 9pm. The victim is alleged to have been the target of religiously aggravated verbal abuse by someone in the restaurant at the time.

Investigating officer PC Clare Shaw said: “At the time of the incident there were numerous customers in the restaurant, as well as a number of staff, who we believe witnessed the incident.

“I would urge anyone who was in the restaurant at the time to come forward, as you may be able to help with our investigation.”
